A Pooh Party

Today we celebrated Maggie's 2nd Birthday with a Winnie the Pooh Party.
We had Piglet's in a Blanket, Roo's Cookies...
... and Pooh's Honey (and peanut butter) Sandwiches.
A special thanks to CamAddisonDesigns for the adorable invitations and food labels.
It was fun to fill our home with bits and pieces of the 100 Acre Woods.
Maggie has been so excited about this party...
...it was hard to peel her away for a quick family photo.
Kanga's Lemonade and Tigger's Tea

Thanks to Aunt Kate for taking pictures.

Happy 2nd Birthday Maggie!
Tucker, Grayson, Maggie, Holden (aka Pooh), and Lila Dawn
Mags loved her Pooh cake!
My sweet grandma wore her Pooh t-shirt for the party.
My mom found a pair of boots just like mine!
Aunt Kate picked out this adorable apron from Anthropologie for Mags.
We gave her a stroller for her baby, but Piglet was her favorite gift...thanks Granny!
Happy Birthday Maggie! We praise God for the blessing you are in our life. We celebrate the day God brought you into the world. Thank you to all of our family and friends who love and support Maggie. We are surrounded by God's blessings and our "cup overfloweth".

Quotes from some Books

“Eating and reading are two pleasures that combine admirably.” C.S. Lewis

“I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.” Anne of Green Gables

If there ever comes a day when we can't be together keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever.
-- Winnie the Pooh

"It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?" -- Winnie the Pooh

"I have no gift of words, but I speak the truth."
- Rudyard Kipling, The Jungle Book, Mowgli's Brothers

“Crying is all right in its own way while it lasts. But you have to stop sooner or later, and then you still have to decide what to do.” - C.S. Lewis

“You would not have called to me unless I had been calling to you," said the Lion.” - The Chronicles of Narnia

“There is such a place as fairyland - but only children can find the way to it. And they do not know that it is fairyland until they have grown so old that they forget the way. Only a few, who remain children at heart, can ever find that fair, lost path again; and blessed are they above mortals. They, and only they, can bring us tidings from that dear country where we once sojourned and from which we must evermore be exiles. The world calls them its singers and poets and artists and story-tellers; but they are just people who have never forgotten the way to fairyland.” -- L.M. Montgomery’s, The Story Girl

“I have come home at last! This is my real country! I belong here. This is the land I have been looking for all my life, though I never knew it till now...Come further up, come further in!” -- C.S. Lewis, The Last Battle

Fall

Fall is full of color and change. This time of year always reminds me of my Aunt Dar. She passed away November 14th 2003. I am so thankful for her amazing life and the reminder fall brings of her.
Fall is also full of fun with family.
I love this one of Holden's face:)
We went down to Grits Cafe with Brent and Nancy last night.
Today Maggie and Jack worked in the yard.
Maggie is starting to put her words into little sentences, small sentences of course.
"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work." 2 Corinthians 9:8

A Day with Holden

We are in Chattanooga this week. Mags and I got to spend the whole day with Holden yesterday! Here they are looking at their name plaques on the bridge.

Just chilling on the bridge...

...and playing...

...and dancing...

...sitting in the leaves...

...by the art structure...

...Holden listing to something...

...eating lunch together. I would hear a loud screaming of "No!!!!" and see Mags pulling her plate back over. I watched for a minute and saw Holden slide her plate over to him and heard the "NO!!!" again and she pulled the plate back. He didn't take her plate again:)

Then they took a bath. Notice the bath toys...Mia's mixing bowl and measureing cups.

Then they watched a little TV before nap time.

After naptime, Holden decided to start wrestling with Maggie. I looked over and he had her pinned on the ground. Other than that little incident:) it was such a fun and relazing afternoon getting to play with Holden and Mags together!

Friday Night Football

On Friday night we went to the Stratford Football Game to support Madison on her Senior Night.
We dressed Mags up like a Stratford Cheerleader.
She loved the game and even tried some of the moves the cheerleaders were doing:)
It was a fun night.
