The Process of Moving

We are in the "process" of moving. I say that because it is a PROCESS!!! Jack had his last day at Ferguson Enterprises today. Last night they threw him a going away party at the Canon.

Easter

In the midst of packing, I wanted to take a minute and put some pictures from Easter on the blog and share some hymns we sang at church...
This is Maggie's "funny face".
"From life's first cry, to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hand. 'Til He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I stand."
Were the whole realm of nature mine,
that were an offering far too small;
love so amazing, so divine,
demands my soul, my life, my all.
There is love that came for us
Humbled to a sinner's cross you broke my shame and sinfuless you rose again victorious
You are stronger you are stronger
Sin is broken you have saved me it is written Christ is risen Jesus you are Lord of all

Good Friday

On this Good Friday we reflect on Christ's time on the cross and what it meant. One song we sang in Church today was, "Beneath the Cross of Jesus"

Beneath the cross of Jesus
I fain would take my stand,
the shadow of a mighty rock
within a weary land;
a home within the wilderness,
a rest upon the way,
from the burning of the noontide heat,
and the burden of the day.

Upon that cross of Jesus mine eye at times can see the very dying form of One who suffered there for me; and from my stricken heart with tears two wonders I confess: the wonders of redeeming love and my unworthiness.

I take, O cross, thy shadow for my abiding place; I ask no other sunshine than the sunshine of his face; content to let the world go by, to know no gain nor loss, my sinful self my only shame, my glory all the cross.

Maggie went to the Good Friday service with me...this is her on the way out the door with her purse (a.k.a Bennett's toy barn full of animals).

It's Been a Hairy Situation

Maggie got her first hair cut last Friday, April 15th. Mrs. Fran (who has been cutting my hair since I was little, who did my hair for my wedding) gave her mullet a little trim:)

Sasse's Wedding

One of Jack's best friends and fraternity brothers, Nathan Sasse, got married this weekend in Birmingham. It was so great to catch up with our friends from Samford.

This is our table at the rehearsal dinner.
(l to r) Stephanie and Parker, Jack and Me, Jarred, and Steph

Maggie slept through the whole ceremony (at Briarwood Presbyterian) and woke up just in time to party at the reception.
This was the first time she wore a hair bow.

She loved walking around...
...Aunt Steph and Mags...

...she found a window that fascinated her...
...Jack and Maggie...
...Mags and me...

...and she found the dance floor!
Notice her dancing between two of the ring bearers.

Here are some of her moves...
...a smile for the camera...
...swinging her arms...
...laughing at Jack and his friends...
...she loved it!
Oh, her favorite move is the shoulder raise.
The Samford guys with their girls and the bride and groom.

Nathan and Julie Sasse!
She was carrying a show in one hand and a camera in the other.

Will's Birthday and a Play Date

Last Monday, March 28th, Will Anderson had his 1 year old birthday party. It was full of fun little things for the kids to do...one was riding in this little red and yellow car. Maggie loved it!

Enjoying the party with Cam and Andie
Maggie and Andie love each other sooo much!

Today we had a play date with Andie.
We went to the park...
...where Maggie was dancing while Andie held on to the famous peanut butter "bar".
This picture captures the funny next twenty minutes. They saw these two boys (about their age) come into the play area...they continued to stare and watch them until the boys left. Jack and Luke were not too happy when I told them about it:)
They had a ball together!
Ok...the "bar" was another funny part. Andie has this peanut butter bar she kept putting down on the playground and Maggie would come behind her and carry it for a while, take a few bites, set it down, Andie would pick it up, and this process continued the whole time we were there!
After lunch at Chick-fil-A we came home.
Here they are "loving" on each other...
...playing in the front yard.
I have loved watching them grow up over the past year and a half! I look forward to taking many more pictures of them together!
