Reformation Day

Today we celebrated two amazing things! First, we witnessed the sacrament of baptism at Northshore Fellowship...Holden Taylor Royal was baptized. It was a beautiful picture and reminder of God's grace.
We also reflected on the Reformation. Martin Luther wrote the Ninety-Five Theses to dispute the power the Roman Catholic Church claimed over the Bible. He would not recant. We sang one of my favorite hymns at Church this morning by Martin Luther, A Mighty Fortress. I could go on and on about the Reformation...what a crucial part of our History!

Halloween

Maggie spent her first Halloween in Chattanooga as a Bumble Bee! She snapped some pictures with other characters...
Geeks
Richard Simmons
The Turtle Man
(see You Tube)

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumkpins

It's fall and we went to the Pumpkin Patch!
Maggie, Leah, and Will
Sweet little friends
Maggie really wanted to share her pumpkin with Mrs. Jennifer.
She seemed to really enjoy the outing...
...maybe because she knows Reformation Day is coming!

Macon

"I'M HEADED BACK TO MACON, MIDDLE OF THE GEORGIA PINES...LOOK OUT MACON, HERE I COME." - JAMEY JOHNSON
"With rusty cars and weeping willows,
Keepin watch out in the yard,
Just a snapshot of downhome Dixie,
Could be anywhere you are...

...as I sit here I'm surrounded,
By these priceless memories,
I don't have to think about it,
There's no place I'd rather be" Buddy Jewell
"Back where I come from, where I'll be when its said and done,
I'm proud as anyone, that's where I come from." Kenny Chesney

"I'm gonna live where the green grass grows...
...raise our kids where the good Lord's blessed
Point our rocking chairs towards the west...

...plant our dreams where the peaceful river flows
Where the green grass grows." Tim McGraw

"Lazy yellow moon coming up tonight
Shining through the trees...

...crickets are singing
and the lightning bugs are floating on the breeze...
...across the field where the creek turns back
By the old stump road...

...Im going to take you to a special place
that nobody knows
Baby get ready...
...you and me going fishing in the dark
lying on our backs and counting the stars
where the cool grass grows..." Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
"Georgia, Georgia
The whole day through
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind...

...A song of you
Comes as sweet and clear as moonlight through the pines
Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in the peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you...
...just an old sweet song
keeps Georgia on my mind..." Ray Charles

"Rollin' down a backwoods [Georgia] by way
One arm on the wheel
Holdin' my lover with the other
A sweet, soft, Southern thrill...

...White tail buck deer munchin' on clover
Red tail hawk sittin' on a limb
A chubby old groundhog, croakin' bullfrog
Free as the feelin' in the wind...
...Home grown country girl..." Alabama

Slow Down

We have been super busy around here, and this weekend has just been a time to STOP and SLOW DOWN! We watched football...
...I worked on lighting with my camera.
We went down to the park for some fresh air and family playtime.
Maggie loves crawling in the green tunnel on the playground.
She really could stay at the park all day long!
"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10

Georgia Tech 33, Virginia 21

Maggie attended her first game yesterday! It was perfect football weather and Tech pulled off a great victory over the University of Virginia.

We started off the day tailgating.
Then we headed to the stadium.

Rachael and Matt joined us for the game.
Maggie did great! We were prepared to leave early if needed.
She loved it though!
Lee J and Molly also came to the game (pulling for their Alma Matter though).
It was a great day!

Fall Time in Lakebottom

After three days of the stomach bug, between Maggie and me, we were so excited to get out of the house and to the park!
She is still unsure about the big bouncy dinosaur.
Just sitting at the end of the slide watching the big kids. She loves just watching the other kids play. She could just watch others all day long!
Such a little girl on the big playground!
She loved "steering the ship".
Now the swing is something she has experience with!
The park is a good way to make her ready for nap time.
Also with the great weather, Jack is back on his bike. Maggie is going to tag along this year.
So far they have only had one semi-successful trip. (Maggie doesn't love the helmet:)
We are so thankful for this beautiful weather and look forward to all the new things we get to introduce Maggie to! (this weekend she is planning on attending her first football game!)
