Bye Bye Car Car

Last night the girls said bye to Carson. He is headed to Mexico for a five week class on teaching English in Spanish speaking countries. After the five weeks, he will be placed somewhere to teach for 6months to a year. We will miss seeing him, but can talk on the phone some. Love you Carson!!!

A Little Bit of Fun

Maggie has been working on her baseball game.
On Tuesday, Nancy and Debbie kept the girls so I could get some things done. I left a bottle for Katie, and they gave her the first bottle she's ever had.
Last Friday, Mags and I spent the morning playing. We raced cars through the hallway...
 ... and played dress up!
Katie and Papa laughing in the mirror.
Maggie loves to organize and line things up in a straight line...she did this by her self:)

First Purchase

Maggie has been carrying around a little ice cream wallet with $3. Kate and Carson gave this to her for her birthday. So, since November, she has been contemplating buying something with her money.
This week she spent $2 of the $3. After an hour of looking in two different stores she purchased some Hello Kitty cards and coloring sheets at Michael's.
She finally found something she wanted more than her money. Every time she wanted to buy something, I explained that her dollars would be gone if she bought it. With these two things she said it would be okay not to have her dollars anymore.
When she asked how she could get more dollars, I told her she had to work for it. So this weekend she wants to help Daddy outside and make some money:)

One of Those Days,,,,

The other day we had "one of those days". I had Maggie down for a nap (I thought) and was trying to get Katie fed and down for a nap so I could get down for a quick nap. Finally Katie was in her crib and quiet, I laid on the bed, set my alarm and then heard Maggie start screaming, "I need to go potty! I need to go potty!" I run in there a little too late and she had a pretty bad mess in bed. So I threw her in the tub and started cleaning the mess while Katie started crying.
She actually started screaming. I got Maggie's bed taken care of, got Katie out of the crib, laid her on Mag's bed and finally caught a breath.

It was one of those days...

Instagram

I've been using Instagram...which I love!
Katie was up a lot one night and Maggie had a bad dream which allowed her to sleep in our bed where she talked throughout the night. Finally, around 6 am, they both fell asleep for a few hours. So, for breakfast, we had peanut butter on a spoon and applesauce.
Like her Mia (and momma), she enjoys fabric AND organizing.
When we gave Maggie her first bath, we video recorded it and took about 50 pictures. Here is one picture from one of Katie's baths.
Maggie had a terrible stomach bug that knocked her out for three days (and kept us inside the house). We finally got out for a little picnic at Washington Park.
The saddest part of her sickness was keeping her in her room so Katie wouldn't get sick. She constantly asked if she could hold Katie...finally with fever gone and stomach settled, they were reunited:)

Back to Normal?

Typically after Christmas, I would say we are getting back to normal. This year it's a new normal...
Katie sleeps great for three or four nights, then seems to have an "up all night" night.
Maggie loves having Katie around, but we are still trying to figure out what our "normal" schedule is with two little girls in the house.
Jack and I were finally able to get out for our anniversary dinner.

New Year

We ended 2012 with a day of football...
....and a Georgia Tech victory over USC!
We ate at Longhorn's on New Year's Eve...thanks Tingle's for a free and wonderful meal!

Today we were glad to get back to normal life. It was a cool, nice day outside; my grandma gave Maggie sidewalk chalk for Christmas, so we decided to try it out...Maggie loved it!
 Uncle Joseph brought us lunch...
 ...and played with Mags.
 Katie, these days:
she sleeps, eats, and smiles...for the small amount of time she is awake:)
She loves to be held, so this is a rare moment of her sleeping without being held.
