My Little Green Pig

Maggie hit four months on Saturday and I just thank the Lord for the gift He has given us.

One of my favorite times to hold Maggie is after her bath when I wrap her in her green pig...who makes a pig green?! She is still so adorable - whatever color the pig is!

Fighting Sleep/Learning Patience

Soooo...whata day! Maggie is about to hit her four month mark, maybe that's it, but whatever it is we had a rough, sleepless, day!

She fights sleep like no other. On my list of things to do today, I accomplished 1/2 of three things. I tried everything - sound machine, rocking her, feeding her, driving in the car, going for a walk. She would dose off for a few minutes here and there, but not deep, long nap!

Maggie knows something is always going on, and if she sleeps, she will miss out on socializing, hanging out, talking (her cooing and shrilling:), watching me work around the house, etc.

Here she is laughing at my while I was trying to fold laundry on the bed.

Here she is really trying to stay awake while I talked on the phone.

And of course I had to move her to the den while I worked in the kitchen.

Of course she is not getting the naps she needs so we do have moments of outburst...

There is something so sweet about her finally falling asleep though...

This is her, FINALLY asleep in her crib for the night (she has no problem falling asleep on her own, in her crib at night...it's just those darn naps:)
The Lord is teaching me patience. Though I have my moments of frustration, at the end of the day, I thank the Lord of the blessing of being with my beautiful, healthy daughter through out the day (sleep or no sleep).

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.."
- Galations 5:22

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name."
- Psalm 100:4

First Slumber Party!!!

So, Maggie had her first Slumber Party last night. Andie Addison spent the night with us (Luke surprised Cam with a night away!). She was so fun and they seemed to enjoy playing with each other.

Jack loves Andie...

The Moore's stopped by for Bennett to join in on the fun.

Here they are playing together on my bed after a good nights rest...

Here they are just hangin' out in the den...
...and Andie is trying to eat Maggie :)

It was a lot of fun to keep her! I know they will always be great friends!

A couple of videos...

Buddy Time

Jack is the best dad ever! He is so helpful with Maggie and she just lights up when he gets home from work. They have what they like to call "Buddy Time" - Jack sits her beside him, checks the mail, talks to me, or just chats with her.

Also...they are looking more and more alike. Here is a picture of Jack at 3 1/2 months.

Maggie's Baptism

On Sunday, March 7th, Maggie was baptized at our church, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, by our pastor Bill Douglas.

As I was up at 4 am preparing for the feast that would follow her baptism, I thought of the picture the Lord was showing me - Jack and I were putting all of this work into having family and friends over for a lunch to rejoice in her baptism. We had relatives come from all over - Macon, Birmingham, Chattanooga. We dressed her in a beautiful white gown. And Maggie has done NOTHING for this.

It was a small picture, to me, of the Lord's work to save me...I did NOTHING to be saved, He chose me out of His great love and mercy.

Our prayer is that the Lord will call her His own. As a mom, it's hard to pray for your child. You want to protect them from any harm and pain they might go through (physically or emotionally), but I know that the Lord has His own special plan for Maggie. So, my prayer is first that she is a chosen child, a child He predestined to be His lovely daughter robed in righteousness. Secondly, I pray the Lord will preserve her through the trials and pain she will endure.

Maggie looked so beautiful in her dress. Clothed in white from head to toe, this is how the Lord sees us - dressed in pure white because of His son.

Thank you to everyone who came to share in this special day. We are encouraged by the Church and know how important it is to have support, encouragement, and prayer from other Believers.

Acts 16:31
They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."

3 Month Update

Maggie hit her 3 month birthday, last Saturday, February 27th! Here are a few updates on her growth, development, exploration, schedule, etc.

She loves to drool!!! If she is not spitting up, she is drooling. On top of the drooling, she loves to put her fists in her mouth which makes for very wet hands.

She is doing much better with "tummy time" - she likes it a little more than she used to!

We have ventured into the new world of the Bumbo. It's a little seat I put her in to play with toys or just watch me. It's fun to sit face to face with her. As she becomes more stable and able to sit up, I will be able to leave her in there for more than ten or fifteen minutes.

Maggie is so ready to stand! It's funny because you hold her up to stand and cheer her on...she gets so excited and puffs up and, the best way to describe it is - she tries to stand even harder.

Besides these advancements, she is on a pretty good schedule of eating every three hours starting between 7 and 8 am and going to bed between 9 and 10 pm. She naps after being up for an hour or so.

She is also really trying to talk! I can't wait to hear those first words soon...
