A Day To Remember

"Good evening. Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts...

These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed; our country is strong.
A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.
America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining.
Today, our nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature. And we responded with the best of America -- with the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbours who came to give blood and help in any way they could...

This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time. None of us will ever forget this day. Yet, we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world."

President George W. Bush, 9/11

This is a day to REMEMBER, a day to remember the lives lost, a day to remember the way our patriotism bonded us together, a day to remember this life is a gift...this freedom is a gift. Our freedom is bought at a price...THANK YOU to the men who have fought to bring us that freedom, who have lost their lives, who are currently sacrificing their lives and time with their family to fight today!

Yesterday we "remembered" Jack's 26 years of life! We are thankful for the freedom to celebrate his birthday.
Maggie gave him several Georgia Tech things...a t-shirt for her to sleep in, a yellow skirt, and she debuted her Tech cheerleading outfit (from Aunt Kate).
I don't know who was more proud...Maggie about her new outfit or Jack about Maggie walking into the den showing off her true colors to everyone.
Brent and Nancy gave Jack a trailer for Maggie to ride in (behind his bike). They also gave him a helmet for her to wear...
...she wasn't so sure about it (maybe because it didn't match her outfit:).
For dinner at the Fish Market, she wore this ensemble (notice the GT I had monogramed at the bottom of the skirt).
